Pete Morton New Media

Pete Morton New Media has existed since April '04, offering bespoke services in web site and multimedia development.

I set the company up on returning to my native North East having spent 4 or so enjoyable years working for Big Picture Interactive, a leading midlands new media agency.

I'm friendly, honest and reliable so if you are interested in working with me please get in touch.

humble beginnings...

I first became interested in new media and the web in particular whilst working as an administrator for the University of Teesside, back in 1997.

I gave up the job, became a student and graduated the following year with an MSc in Multimedia Applications.

The first job

After graduating, I set up a small company with fellow graduates building web sites for local SMEs. A year later, with valuable experience under my belt, I made the journey south to the midlands to take up the position of web developer at Big Picture Interactive (then General Interactive).

The Big Picture Years

I spent the next four years developing client-side skills such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript, learning new skills in Flash & Director and picking up the odd bit of server-side knowledge.

Four years on finds me married and back up north (closer to both our families).

BPI is gone but not forgotten with happy memories of working on many diverse projects. The JavaScript based Maths in the Factory for Cadbury was a particular favourite.

My web story will hopefully continue...
